In 2010, he was awarded the Prix Goncourt du Premier Roman for his first novel, HHhH, which recounts the assassination of Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich in 1942. In In 2012, he published Rien ne se passe comme prévu, a behind-the-scenes account of the presidential campaign of François Hollande.
