This past year our department lost several members of our community.  Among these were: 

Professor Nicolau Sevcenko (1952-2014), who joined the department faculty beginning in 2005.  RLL is planning a memorial service on Friday, March 27th, 2015.

Professor Emeritus and former Chair, Per Nykrog (1925-2014).  Professor Nykrog was a member of the department faculty from 1979 until retiring in 1998, and served as chair from 1986 through 1991.

Visiting Professor Juan Flores (1941-2014), who is also the father of one of our alumni.  He was a member of the department in 1998 and again in 2000.

As the year comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the cherished memories of colleagues and friends who are no longer with us, and send our sympathies to their loved ones.
