Diane Berrett Brown - "Academic Publishing Behind the Scenes" For RLL Grads - RSVP

Date:

Monday, October 9, 2017, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Location:

Boylston 403.

Dear grad students,

I’m writing to invite you all to a special event on October 9. The managing editor of diacritics, Diane Berrett Brown, will be presenting on “Academic Publishing Behind the Scenes,” covering the whole process of article publication, offering advice on how to choose a journal to submit an article to and how to deal with whatever response a journal gives you (rejection, revise/resubmit, etc.). Given that this is taking place on Columbus Day, a University Holiday, there should be no conflicts with classes you’re in or classes you teach. I’d like to encourage each and every one of you, regardless of where you are in your grad student career, to attend if you’re not abroad or away, and to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to demystify a bit the world of academic publishing.

The event is taking place on Monday, October 9, from 4-6 pm in Boylston 403.

Please RSVP to me by the end of this month: Diane has a short assignment she’d like all attendees to complete before her visit, and I will be sending that out at the end of the month.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

All my best,

Annabel
