The Aesthetics, Politics, and Sujectivity in Contemporary Latin American Theory Interdisciplinary Graduate Workshop invites you to "History Writing, History Reading, and literary Criticism", a conference by Mauricio Tenorio to be hold on February 7th, from 5.30 to 7.30, at 114 Barker Center. Mauricio Tenorio is Samuel N. Harper Professor of History at the University of Chicago. He is the author of Latin America. The Allure and Power of an Idea (2017), La maldita lengua (2016), and I Speak of the City: Mexico City, 1880-1930 (2012), among other books. Prof. Tenorio will be presenting on the practice of history and its close ties to literary traditions.
