NOTE: The GSAS deadlines are firm, and no extensions are possible. The deadline for submission of the final draft to the committee and the defense date can be catered to the needs and preferences of the committee and the degree candidate.

Friday, August 8, 2025	Suggested latest date for defense (Students defending after this date may be required to obtain theircommittee’s formal approval of their dissertations prior to the defense.)
Tuesday, September 2, 2025	Dissertation deadline for students who do not wish to retain health insurance coverage for the duration of the fall term.
Wednesday, September 3, 2025	Dissertation deadline for students who wish to retain health insurance coverage for the duration of the fall term. Registration is required.
Wednesday, November 12, 2025	Degree conferral date
