Making the news in France: A Charlie Archive at Harvard Library
Front page image, from the Charlie Archive at Harvard Library.
In the aftermath of the attacks on Charlie Hebdo in January 2015, a small team of RLL faculty and Widener librarians had the idea of creating an archive of digital and material documents (with emphasis on ephemerals) related to these events and the debate that followed.
The members of the CAHL team are currently: Virginie Greene, Nicole Mills, Tuo Liu (RLL), Odile Harter, Lidia Uziel (Harvard Widener Library), Lola Mirabail (Bibliothèque Universitaire, Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint Denis).
The Lasky-Barajas Digital Pioneers have put our story on their website.
A landing site has been launched during the summer calling for contributions and donations: http://cahl.webfactional.com/
French news have started to announce this project:
Please pass the word, and if you have anything to contribute to the archive,
