New Francophone Studies Professor Hired For Academic Year 2022-23

Please Welcome Professor Usha Rungoo, who will be joining us this next academic year!  Professor Rungoo, a recent Yale Ph. D. in French and African American Studies, is a specialist in Francophone literature and culture with a focus on contemporary island literatures. She has native fluency in Mauritian Creole, French, and English, with advanced proficiency in Hindi, in addition to competency in Spanish. She will bring to the section and the department a much-needed range of areas of teaching in and around Francophone studies that will also enable outreach to other departments. We are delighted to welcome Professor Rungoo to our community!
