Secondary in French
Requirements: 5 half-courses
- Secondary field students can take any French course offered (from 40- to 200-level) except 91R (independent study).
- A maximum of one (1) French half-course at the 40-60 level.
- Students who place out of the 40-60 level courses should take courses at the 70-200 levels.
- A maximum of one (1) French half-course at the 70 level.
- A maximum of two (2) French half-courses at the 80 level.
- At least two (2) French half-courses at the 100-level and above.
- At least three (3) half-courses must be taught in French.
- One of the 5 courses can be replaced by a Romance Studies course.
- A maximum of one (1) French half-course at the 40-60 level.
Options
- A maximum of two (2) half-courses taken abroad and approved both by the OIE and RLL for Harvard credit.
- A maximum of one (1) half-course in a related field (a First-Year Seminar, or any relevant course offered in other programs or departments).
No course may be taken Pass/Fail or Sat/Unsat, with the exception of an optional First-Year Seminar.
